I have modified the Team Entry form shown on the website in order to be able to use the 3S Cashiering program for the shoot. In order to incorporate non-ATA shooters into the program they need a “dummy” ATA# which we will assign. Shooters with ATA#’s will have their address information extracted from the ATA database.
Section 2 will be for shooter names only and the post# which has been chosen for each shooter in the squad.
Section 3 is where shooter address data is tied to the shooter by the post# chosen for the shooter in section 2. Non-ATA shooters must enter the “dummy” ATA# (mentioned above) followed by the address to which any payoffs from the shoot. The “dummy” ATA# will be assigned at the actual shoot when team entry is made. Shooters with ATA#’s simply enter that ATA# on the line to use their ATA database address. If the shooter wants to use another address, enter the address to be used.
No cash payouts will be made at the shoot, as specified by the WTA Treasurer. Therefore the addresses of Section 3 become critical to match up with the names of Section 2. It is important that the address information is readable when that information is entered in the computer.
Section 3 requires
Southeast Zone Results posted under SHOOTS…
This can’t continue this way. I think it’s time for the BOD to appoint an “at large” shooter from any zone when one or more vacancies occur in a zone and no one from the zone is willing to Volunteer.
The purpose of my original post was to find out what was the current status of our BOD. The result of that was an explanation by Rachel Kroeplien (above) regarding that issue. In a subsequent phone conversation with the Kropelien family and Rachel’s post,, I am satisfied that the BOD and the Kroplien family, is acting in the best interests of the WTA. Although my original post was not intended as a “BOD bashing”, I can understand readers interpreting it that way. My sincere apologies to anyone offended by my post. In order to move forward to the State Shoot we all need to cooperate with one another, or there will be no shoot, and perhaps no WTA.
As to the statement made that Denny is holding up the Fidelity S transfer to the WTA is incorrect. The transfer should have been completed between lawyers for the WTA & Ray’s estate by today. If that does not take place, Denny was advised by the estate lawyer to write a check directly to Summit C/U for the remaining balance. That should settle that issue…Can you imagine what a “Chinese Fire Drill” is would be if our government meetings were “open” to all visitors? What an asinine suggestion!! The way things are designed to work in our democracy is the people elect representatives to govern on their behalf. The elected officers are to act on behalf of the people they represent to run the government. IF the people feel those elected representatives are not acting on their behalf, they show their dissatisfaction with letters, and with their votes at the next election. If you feel, as a number concerned posters on this website (myself included), do, you show your feelings at the State Shoot annual meeting and cast your vote “NAY” when the motion to approve a change is made. This is the way we react to any suggested Constitutional change, or changes, we feel are not in the best interests of the WTA. Some of the other changes suggested I know of, ought to receive the same treatment as that of the “open” BOD meetings! ATTEND the WTA Annual meeting at the 2017 State Shoot to make your opinions known.
Hey there fellow shooters – as much as I hate to admit this, but the issue of paying Denny his due, is on life support. Fritz & the Ottos were the initial “spear carriers” on this issue, but I can see now that we are “spittin’ in the wind”. I’ve pretty well resigned myself that there is no sense, at this time, in trying to pursue this further. We have a State Shoot coming up in three months and there’s much to do in order to make this happen. Much as I hate to say it, we need to now concentrate on the State Shoot. Am I giving up on getting Denny his due – not be a longshot. I’m going to “shelve” this for right now, but it’s no a dead issue!! Let’s all try and to make sure this State Shoot is a “GO”, so’s we can maintain our record of one of the best in the nation!!!
What is the adjenda for the meeting?
Original draft of the program was done 1st week of June. BOD had to decide on cost of targets, options, and what added $ would be & how paid out. These things were finally decided at meeting after 5-Man Team Shoot 8/20. Program finished 8/22 & sent to BOD for approval. John posted the program 8/26.
Next question would probably be what is Top Gun Lewis in the Handicap events. Top two scores are paid 40% of the purse entry, split 60/40. These two scores get ignored when the remaining 60% of the purse Lewis payout is calculated in 3 classes (20% to each class). The 3rd high score in the option becomes the high score of the 1st Lewis Class & is paid 60/40 High Gun. (If more than one shooter has that score, $ divided equally). The remaining 2 classes paid are calculated exactly the same as the 1st after figuring where the next two class break falls. Kinda neat as the score you broke, may wind up paying more than what the top 3 scores did depending on how many others broke that score. It’s a roll of the dice.
This option doesn’t work too well with the Singles & Doubles but makes for an interesting option in the Handicap.Bunker folks are scheduled to be here the weekend of 4/1,2,3. Fritz is arranging to have the bunker open and operational for 4/2,3. Arlene & I plan to be there helping him.
Last weekend, Mssrs Thistle, CHrapla, Kaszynski, Paulin, Otto, & Pat Taylor worked to get the Quonset building cleared out of picnic tables & fire rings distributing them throughout the Campgrounds (NO small task!). Dwight brought up unassembled gun rack materials donated by Rick Tesker and cut-up by Gary Fechter ready for assembly. Don Shrapla is going to begin assembling the gun racks. I suspect he is going to need help. When I get more info on that, I will post it here and try to “drum up” some volunteers. We are in the process of organizing the project activities that need to be done. Fritz Thistle is working with Denny to find out the many things that have to be done in order to get the place opened up. He came down Friday & picked up the Kolar trailer which has a variety of things in it which have to used or installed. We will also have to get the Bunker up and running for the youths coming in this weekend. I’m having some minor eye surgery this Wed. so can’t predict my availability for the weekend. Fritz’s email is: thistle222@gmail.com and phone: 608-370-1118. If you can’t get to me, try Fritz.
Tues. 3/22 Fritz & 2-Glens from the Rapids & I are going to be unloading the picnic tables from the Quonset building, applying sealer, and distributing them in the camping area. Tools needed: rollers and rubber gloves. I’m meeting Fritz in Lodi about 7 so we should be there by 9:00. Thus far I have received only one email from an IL shooter offering to be a weekend volunteer. That tells me that either WI shooters don’t read the website or just don’t give a rat’s behind about the Homeground!
Good news on Denny – brought him home from the hospital yesterday (feeding tube & all). Still has the swallowing problem, thus the feeding tube. Vocal communication very difficult so your best means of communication would be via email, or texting. He looked pretty darn good today and is always optimistic. Your prayers are still most welcome!!
Went to see Denny Wed. & Thur. at Burlington Hospital so I have an update on his condition. He now has a feeding tube installed where he receives medications as well as nourishment due to the in-abllity to swallow. It seems that he is a little anxious to return home. Today he was given a “swallow test” but so far I know nothing of the results. His vocal skills are still very diminished and understanding him require good ears along with a little lip reading. Probably the best means of communicating would be email or texting, both of which he can do well.
Arlene & I went to the hospital this morning to see how he was doing. Denny has difficulty in swallowing to they were to install a feeding tube this afternoon. He thinks he may be released tomorrow to home. He has difficulty talking as his voice is very raspy so we have trouble understanding what he is saying.
His Oncologist was in yesterday and was “excited” to report that the tumor had shrunk 30-40% in response to his first round of Chemo. Another round will be taking place in 3-4 weeks so that will be next up for him. He also has a Chemo pump in place which feeds medication into his system. Things aren’t looking so bleak any more. May God bless Denny & Ruth in this battle – the guy is “1 or a kind”!!!! I wish we had more like him……The change of dates to Sep. 16,17,18 would probably conflict with the non-registered Fall Shoot at Gateway (Land O Lakes) as mid-Sept is the time when that shoot is scheduled. WTA Fall Classic would probably lose some shooters to those dates. The week previous to Sep.9-11 conflicts with the Heartland Grand.
